Responsible for management and internal reporting for all claims (multi-line).
Oversight of Loss reporting.
Ensure TPA's are posting timely and appropriate reserves.
Handle all discovery requests and present legal documents to Senior Management for execution.
Respond to internal requests regarding coverage and insurance.
Facilitate communication with external vendors and internal Property Management staff.
Utilize RMIS for various TPA's to monitor losses and identify trends or actionable items.
Provide senior management and operating group management with timely/periodic loss information with trend analysis of the key loss drivers, and recommendations for improvement.
Direct oversight of large or critical losses, and claims involving coverage issues.
Supervise Claims Analyst to aid in the claim handling process.
Maintain all claims handling instructions for property, liability, and WC, and distribute to operating units and claim service providers.
Take personal oversight of large losses.
Conduct root cause analysis of all key loss trends and patterns, and communicate recommendations for improvement to senior leadership.
Manage an effective, accurate, and timely loss information system.
Respond to the daily request for information and assistance from senior management and the various operating groups.
Monitor reserves, early settlement options, and subrogation opportunities.
Measure service providers performance and assist in a plan of continuous improvement.
Manage the use of outside specialty claim experts as needed.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent specialized study in claims management from an accredited institution, or demonstrated work experience.

Skills/Requirements :

Working knowledge of policy coverages and policy language.
Working knowledge of diverse claims management techniques, such as subrogation, structured settlements, etc.
Must be proficient in reading Leases and other contracts to identify Risk Transfer opportunities.
Broad understanding of the insurance company claim function and TPA operations.
Ability to decipher complex claims issues into simplified key decision points.
Excellent verbal, written, listening and negotiating skills.
Human relations and interpersonal skills are a must to work effectively with claimants, internal management team, insurance brokers, attorneys, and claims adjusters.
Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office software.
Ability to handle high volume of short deadlines (multitasking).
Issues of confidentiality must be respected relative to claim activities.
Ability to prioritize work without supervision (work independently).

Position requires periodic travel (occasional overnight) to attend meetings with operating management, to visit claim sites, and to coordinate effective claim recovery.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
