We are the Ascott Group a search firm specializing in the lighting industry. We have positions at all levels with Architectural, commercial, Industrial, Residential, and Solid State Lighting fixture, lamp, and ballast manufacturers.
Our client is a fast paced growing lamp/fixture manufacturer with a long history of providing quality driven commercial/industrial lamps/fixtures products to end users. Due to continued sales growth they are seeking a C&I lighting industry professional to assume the role of:
Director of Business Development - Paramus, NJ location USA Based Candidates only
Primary Responsibilities 1. Oversee and manage sales representative force,regional sales managers, call on distribution, OEM accounts. 2. Develop and advance key buying relations. 3. Prospect and develop customers in agency, OEM, distribution markets served by the company. 4. Implement written reporting and verbal feedback mechanism with rep agents to track key quote statistics, to forecast orders and plan inventory and production, and to increase the likelihood of order fulfillment. 5. Product development liaison and support role with sales, engineering, marketing and production. 6. Ability to travel within nationally, maintaining physical proximity at company headquarters and mentoring and cross-talk role with home office staff.
Experience 1. Must have experience as a National director/VP level Sales Manager with a large commercial/industrial OEM (Philips, GE, Dialight, Hubbell, Acuity Brands, Osram) 2. Bachelor's degree prerequisite. Master's degree in business administration, industrial distribution, architectural engineering, lighting science, or theatre a plus. 3. Experienced in OEM/Distribution sales and sales team management
Type of Individual 1. A competitive, highly motivated, self-policing, goal oriented professional. 2. Technical knowledge of LED based lighting products, processes, technology and electrical and construction conditions. 3. Adequate knowledge of competitors, competitive products and purchasing agent-specifier-agent-distributor-contractor chain. 4. Worldly knowledge and design instincts command respect. 5. Business savvy with polish and poise in social settings and presentations. 6. Written communication skills essential.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
