BASIC FUNCTION:
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for attaining GM Financial's originations objectives for an assigned sales territory. The RSM provides input and executes the sales strategies for assigned territories as well as provides leadership to Sales team. This team member is a key link between sales operations, credit operations and senior leadership.

JOB DUTIES:
Leadership
Set goals and drive performance of an assigned Sales team.
Provide guidance to Dealership Relationship Manager (DRM) through on-going performance evaluation, coaching and training.
Make joint sales calls with Sales team members to support key relationships or enhance the opportunity for new business.
Conduct regular one-on-one performance reviews to help establish direction for each DRM within their assigned market.
Evaluate and balance territory assignments.

Strategy Execution
Provide competitive market information and recommend strategies based on that information.
Seek out potential new markets as needed to accomplish company objectives.
Establish volume objectives for each DRM and review performance against goals in a consistent and timely basis.
Monitor key performance indicators for each DRM to measure effectiveness and efficiency.
Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers within national and regional dealer groups, as well as other clients identified as strategic by the company.
Assist each DRM in developing a strategic approach to managing and growing volume within their assigned territories.

Liaison between Field Operations and Corporate
Communicate to management the territory's objectives, strategies and operational results on a timely basis.
Ensure sales operations are operating in accordance with company objectives.
Support GM Financial's strategic initiatives throughout the region and ensure consistent support from entire Sales team.
Work with other organizational teams within GM Financial to develop and implement regional, market and dealer level programs as needed.
Work with Regional Credit Managers to build a team approach to dealer management and enhance communication and cooperation between organizations.
Review data included in compensation and reward recognition plans.

Reports to: VP Sales Subordinates: 7-10 Direct Reports




Qualifications:
Knowledge
Extensive current knowledge of credit, funding and collections processes in consumer finance.
Extensive knowledge of the retail automobile finance industry.

Experience
Previous experience in the auto finance industry preferred.
Prefer 3
years experience in a branch management position.
Experience in business plan development and execution.
College degree preferred. Previous sales experience.

WORK CONDITION:
High energy and fast paced.
Extensive travel may be required to facilitate objective of joint calling with DRM direct reports.
Work schedule may include some nights, weekends and holidays.
Must provide proof of valid driver's license as well as proof of current automobile insurance.
